The 16-story Edgewater Arms Condominium was an extremely challenging retro-fit project as all of the balconies required that the sliding glass window panels be installed from the interior of the building. In addition, the existing sill condition was unable to support the installation of new, impact resistant products. PGA overcame these obstacles by, first, installing a new, thicker and deeper, structural aluminum angle to reinforce the existing, deteriorating concrete sills and, second, installing Windoor's Series 8000 Large and Small Impact Resistant Sliding Glass Windows / Doors with a top-of-the line Coastal Package. Several Edgewater Arms unit Owners were hit hard during Hurricane Wilma, so time was of the essence in completing the project as quickly as possible so that their respective investments would be protected. The scope of work consisted of: Removal of all existing glazing products, installation of new exterior, large and small impact resistant sliding glass windows / doors, fixed windows and single hung windows.
